Status assessments are based on events through the latest chapter. If you're not caught up, use our catch-up tool first.
Statuses updated through Ch. 415 (Jul 26, 2026). "Unknown" means we haven't had confirmation either way β this arc is intentionally opaque about off-screen eliminations. Updated as chapters release.
| Prince | Beast type | Threat level | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tserriednich (4th) | Time manipulation | Extreme | Can see short-term futures. Combined with his own Nen genius, he's the arc's most dangerous player. |
| Benjamin (1st) | Military / command | High | Declared martial law. Controls ship security. Can brand anyone a traitor. |
| Zhang Lei (3rd) | Conditional granting | High | His coins grant Nen abilities with conditions β a diplomatic weapon. |
| Tubeppa (5th) | Scientific / analytical | Moderate | Approaches Nen like a researcher. Strong bodyguard team. |
| Marayam (13th) | Spatial (Nen room) | Moderate | His Guardian Beast created an entire Nen space (Room 1013). Great defense. |
| Woble (14th) | Unknown | Wildcard | A baby with unclear beast abilities β but the "real Woble" mystery suggests something bigger. |
| Kacho & Fugetsu (10th/11th) | Twin-linked | Moderate | Paired abilities that complement each other. Alliance makes them harder to eliminate. |
Threat levels are editorial assessments based on revealed abilities and political position. This is not canon β it's our read of the board.
Ch. 415 β "Authenticity" (Jul 26, 2026)
Benjamin declares Special Martial Law. All surviving princes ordered to Room 1001. Weapons to be confiscated. Beyond Netero's post-mortem curse on Furykov revealed β will kill one prince after Beyond dies, ~365 days to decrypt. Luzurus vanishes. Bisky returns. Kurapika suspects martial law was triggered by something bigger than finding Woble.
Ch. 414 (Jul 19, 2026)
Gon and Killua teased for the first time in years. Possibly tied to the search for the real Woble. Political maneuvering continues on the upper decks.

Ch. 412 (Jul 5, 2026)

Ch. 411 (Jun 28, 2026)

- The prize: the throne of the Kakin Empire. King Nasubi has 14 children β only one survives.
- The arena: the Black Whale, a colossal ship sailing for the "Dark Continent." The voyage is the killing floor.
- The rules: princes can't directly kill each other openly β so the war is fought through bodyguards, assassins, alliances, Nen beasts and legal maneuvering. Think Game of Thrones on a boat, ruled by Nen contract law.
- The equalizer: the Seed Urn ritual granted every prince a Guardian Spirit Beast β a parasite-type Nen creature with its own rules, invisible even to its host.
| Player | Role | Why they matter |
|---|---|---|
| Kurapika | Protagonist | Bodyguard to Woble and Queen Oito. Playing chess against everyone while hiding his own rules. |
| Beyond Netero | Long-game player | The Chairman's son. His post-mortem curse will kill one prince after he dies. Decryption takes ~365 days. |
| Queen Oito | Woble's mother | Confined to Room 1014 in Ch. 415. Alive only because she might mother the next king. |
| Bisky | Fan-favorite returnee | Reappeared in Ch. 415. Immediately clocked Benjamin's guard radiating dangerous single-use aura. |
| Hisoka | Wildcard | Hunting Phantom Troupe members on the lower decks. His survival after Chrollo fight changed the rules. |
Togashi is writing political thriller + Nen contract law. Text-heavy chapters are normal β they read better in volume format than week-to-week. If a chapter feels slow, that's the medium, not the story.
Room 1001 (Benjamin's gathering point), Room 1013 (Marayam's Nen space), Room 1014 (Oito's confinement) β locations are factions in this arc.
Every power has conditions, loopholes and costs. If you're confused, our Nen guide covers the framework. The fun is in the lawyering.
Updated as chapters release. Last update: Aug 1, 2026 (through Chapter 415; Chapter 416 expected Aug 2).
