Togashi has stated manuscripts are complete through at least Chapter 421 (some reports suggest as far as ~430). Current chapter is 415. That's a 6+ chapter buffer β enough for roughly 6 more weeks of weekly serialization at the current pace. When the buffer runs low, expect another hiatus.

The buffer math
With 6+ chapters in the bank and 1 releasing per week, the current weekly streak can last through roughly early September 2026 before the stockpile runs out. After that, expect another batch-style hiatus unless Togashi's output pace has increased (which the surgery may have enabled).
Togashi suffers from chronic lower back pain, likely compounded by decades of sitting at a drawing desk. At his lowest points, he couldn't sit at all and drew while lying down. He underwent surgery in December 2024 to address the issue. Additionally, Togashi is a perfectionist who refuses to compromise quality for speed β he'd rather pause than publish subpar work.
Togashi has stated he wants to finish the story himself. He's drafted four possible endings, including a contingency ("Ending D") in case he can't. The fact that he has manuscripts stockpiled past Ch. 421 and underwent surgery suggests he's actively working toward completion β but there's no official timeline.
